Cicale class welcomes children of Year 2 and Year 3 who understand Italian language and can speak, even if not fluent yet. Italian is taught as a mother tongue language, entirely in Italian. The course will start with a revision of the syllabic system and complex spellings, we will them swiftly move on to the “analisi logica” of the sentence. Working on the syntax will allow the children to understand the role of the words in the sentences and to be able to expand on basic sentences, using a variety of conjunctions. The children will also study in depth the verbs “essere” and “avere”, the use of the letter “h” and the tenses of the verbs. Children will be offered a variety of narrative texts to read and analyse.
